A.I. Practices at TUAS

Tell Us a Story is podcast about people, made by people, for people. In the world of media today it is often hard to know what is real and what is not. But when you are listening to our show you can trust that it is the real story of a real human being.

We do not knowingly use Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) to generate any content on this show. When selecting stock music or photos we do our best to ensure they are real photos and music, made by real artists. Now someday we may be fooled, but we do our best.

One of the places A.I. may be used in is the generation of transcripts for the production process. And to be honest this is pretty rare. The nature of the show and the way it is produced means that our hand written recording logs are much more useful than a transcript.

In the future we do hope to provide transcripts of our shows and it is highly likely that these will be some sort of speech to text engine that will certainly have an AI of some kind behind it.

The other area where A.I. is almost certainly buried is in the filters and tools we use to clean up and edit our audio. This is basically unavoidable at this point. We do not generate vocal tracks with A.I.

Finally, if, on the odd chance we decide to experiment with A.I. in other ways we will make it very obvious in the recording as well as the show notes. This show is really not the place for that but if a case arises that makes it relevant we will let you know.

Wrapping Season 1 and Plans For Season 2

First, a huge thank you to all the amazing people who shared their stories with us for the first season of Tell Us A Story. I hope you found them as thought provoking listening to them as I did producing them.

We are going to put a bow on this first season and call it done. It was a wild ride getting those first shows to you. Some times we were posting an episode and looking for a new guest for the next show in two weeks. That does keep things exciting as a producer.

We are currently in conversation with potential guests for the second season and are beginning to schedule recording sessions.

Our goal is to have the next season fully scheduled before we start releasing the new shows. Keep an eye on this website for more details as to when the next season will premier.

Until then, you can take second listen to your favorite episodes or catch up on any that you missed right here.

Tell Us A Story is Live!

At 5 am this morning the first full episode of Tell Us A Story with Athar Rafiq dropped (as we say in the business).

Then I sent an announcement out to a small list of people to begin to spread the word. That was nerve wracking, but it is done.

The journey has begun, I am excited to be sharing these stories with you and look forward to your feedback and suggestions.

    Production has started!

This is a quick update to say that we are now actively recruiting participants and have even recorded the podcast’s first story.

While we are keeping the content secret for a little longer we expect to roll out the first episodes before the end of the year.

    Stay tuned…

    The Beginning

What is this and why are we doing it?

There is very little doubt in my mind that the best way to get to know someone is to listen to their stories. The stories of their life experiences and the stories that shaped who they are in this moment.

Sometimes those stories will bring us together as we realize that our own experiences are not completely unique and that we have a shared bond with another human being.

Other times those stories open our eyes to a would that we did not know even existed. We may discover their are opportunities out there that we never imaged. But is it also likely that we may learn about the lived experience of another that is totally foreign to our own and in the hearing of that story our empathy and compassion towards others increases.

As of this writing we are still in the preproduction phase of this project, but it is not to early to get involved. If you have a story you would like to share or can recommend someone we may want to contact please let us know using our information form.

Please also note that this website is still under development. Things will change and be more fully fleshed out over time.
